Summer has a way of flying by, doesn’t it?

One minute you’re hanging up your spring jacket—and the next, you’re already thinking about back-to-school supplies and fall routines.

Before you rush into what’s next, I want to invite you to pause and reset.

Summer is the perfect time to slow down, check in with yourself, and realign your life with what matters most.

Here’s how to create a simple summer reset that leaves you refreshed and ready for a new season.

#1: Check In with Yourself

Before you can reset, you need to know how you’re really doing.

Find a quiet spot—maybe with a journal, a cup of something cold, and a little breathing room.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I longing for right now?
  • Where am I feeling tired, stretched, or unfulfilled?
  • Where am I seeing God at work in my life?
  • What would feel life-giving in this season?

Sometimes, just naming what’s stirring in your heart creates clarity.

#2: Do More of What Brings You Joy

Summer is a beautiful reminder that life doesn’t have to be all hustle.

Make a list of small things that fill you up:

  • Reading in a hammock
  • Long walks after dinner
  • Trying a new recipe
  • Watching sunsets
  • Playing board games with your kids
  • Picking fresh flowers

Then be intentional to do them—often.
You don’t have to wait for permission to enjoy your life.

#3: Make It Memorable

What could make this summer feel special and set apart?

Consider:

  • Planning a simple day trip
  • Hosting a backyard dinner with friends
  • Creating a summer bucket list with your family
  • Starting a gratitude journal for the rest of the season

The memories you make now don’t have to be expensive or complicated—they just have to be intentional.

#4: Reset Before Fall Arrives

Before the school routines and new goals of fall sweep in, take time to reset:

  • Declutter a few spaces that feel heavy
  • Revisit your goals and see what still matters
  • Ask God what He’s inviting you into in the next season
  • Consider what rhythms you want to carry forward

A little time spent realigning now will help you enter fall with peace instead of overwhelm.

You Deserve a Fresh Start

You don’t have to wait until January to make a change.

Summer is its own new beginning.

Pause.
Reflect.
Celebrate what’s been.
Release what isn’t working.
Step into what’s next with hope.
