What is your role with iBloom? My role with iBloom is slowly evolving. For several years, I was the only one- so I did everything that needed to be done from coaching, finances, cleaning, organizing, graphic design, marketing, etc. Thankfully, now I’m being surrounded by incredible people that are far more gifted than me in their specialty! So, now I’m the visionary-servant leader of iBloom. I get to inspire, motivate, and equip the iBloom Team with tools for great success as together we create ripple effects throughout the world for the cause of Christ.
If someone were to ask, who are you, how would you respond? Wow - that’s a pretty broad question. I guess I would say that I am a follower of Christ who is passionately in pursuit of becoming the woman God desires. For me that means spending time with Him daily and fervently pursuing my life purpose, which is to inspire and invest in women. I would also say that I’m a dreamer, planner, organizer, and visionary.
Kelly, you get to challenge other women to pursue their dreams. What is your BIG dream?
Oh, I’m a dreamer - it’s just the way God wired me. I have LOTS of big dreams, but the one I’m currently pursuing is expanding iBloom. When God gave me the vision of iBloom – I saw our organization having ripple effects throughout the world. I didn’t really know exactly what that entailed other than me investing in the lives of other women by coaching, consulting, training, speaking, and events. Now God has taken that vision to a much broader scale. iBloom is in the process of expanding to a much more national and international scale. There are lots of exciting things on the horizon.
Another BIG dream that coincides with the dream of iBloom is opening a retreat center/spa/café & coffee shop. I long to have a place where women can come “retreat” from the pressures of the day-to-day grind of life and meet God in a fresh way.
I also have a dream of being a wife and mother, just waiting on God’s perfect timing!!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I have the most amazing family and friends a girl can have, so I love to spend time with them – whether it’s hanging out on the patio, playing games, going to dinner and a movie, or traveling together. I love to play with my “girls” – my precious dogs – Lady & Hope! I also love to read and journal.
Movie: I love girly movies. I’m also a HUGE fan of anything by Tyler Perry. My current favorite movie is “Why Did I Get Married.” It’s a must see!!
TV Show: Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Extreme Home Makeover, and LOST
Favorite Book: I love to read, especially non-fiction. I have lots of favorite books and authors on a variety of topics. A few of my favorites are Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, Sacred Obsession by Becky Tirabassi, and anything by John Maxwell, Andy Stanley, or Beth Moore.
Drink: Definitely Diet Pepsi & McDonalds Diet Coke (yes, I do think I keep them in business!)
Color: I love bright, cheery colors!
Season: Spring, Summer, and Fall – anything but winter and cold weather
Do you have a life verse? If so, what is it and why?
Jeremiah 1:5-10 (MSG): "Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you: A prophet to the nations— that's what I had in mind for you." But I said, "Hold it, Master God! Look at me. I don't know anything. I'm only a boy!" God told me, "Don't say, 'I'm only a boy.' I'll tell you where to go and you'll go there. I'll tell you what to say and you'll say it. Don't be afraid of a soul. I'll be right there, looking after you." God's Decree. God reached out, touched my mouth, and said, "Look! I've just put my words in your mouth—hand-delivered! See what I've done? I've given you a job to do among nations and governments—a red-letter day! Your job is to pull up and tear down, take apart and demolish, And then start over, building and planting.
During one of my quiet times in October of 2006, I came across these verses and it was very clear that God was challenging me to claim them as my life verses.
